Entrants :

All Hong Kong primary and secondary school students are welcome to participate.

Each school may nominate up to ten students in the Individual Category and one team in the Team Category. For the Individual Category, each nominated student submits their own artwork.

For the Team Category, a team of 2 students from the same school creates one artwork together.

In the Individual Category, each student must submit their artwork online to enter the Preliminary Round during the artwork submission period 28 April – 5 May 2026.

In the Team Category, only teachers can nominate one team to enter due to limited capacity; only four teams from all nominated schools will be randomly selected to enter the Team Category competition on the final battle days.

Students who qualify through the Preliminary Round in the Individual Category will be notified via their nominating teacher, parent, or guardian.

Nomination fee:
‍HKD $100 per student, payable after the nomination deadline.

A physical competition certificate
A digital certificate

Game Rules :

• Each Final Round battle is a live 20-minute round to create an original artwork from scratch, on the day
• Multiple judges score each match; the higher-scoring contestant advances
• The same judging criteria apply across all stages — only the time limit differs per stage
• In the Individual Category, each student battles solo on their own device.
• In the Team Category, 2 students from the same school collaborate live on the same Magma canvas. 
• ⚠️ AI-generated artwork is strictly prohibited. Any use of AI generation tools will result in immediate disqualification upon discovery.

Tools Required:

• Digital Drawing Tablet
  e.g. iPad, digital drawing tablet or any other tablet
• Digital Drawing Software
  - Individual Category: Procreate, ibisPaint X, Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint or any other software (no restrictions, but preferably one that can export a time‑lapse video). 
  - Team Category: Magma – a browser‑based collaborative painting and drawing platform.● Zoom – required for screen sharing during the competition.

Judging Criteria :

Our professional judging panel consists of members from the Artbat Academy committee and the Hong Kong artist. The judging criteria are as follows:
