Entrants :

All primary and secondary school students in Hong Kong are welcome to register. Each school can nominate up to eight students per category to participate in the online workshop and preliminary round, with nominations made by a teacher. Contestants who qualify through the preliminary round will have their nominators notified about their advancement to the Top 16 on-site competition and finals. If no notification is received by March 25, 2025, it means the contestant has not advanced to the Top 16 Round.

The deadline for nominations is at 6:30 PM on March 14, 2025, based on the time of online submission.

  1. Once the registration details are confirmed, no changes, substitutions, or exchanges of nominated contestants will be allowed.
  2. An online briefing will be held on February 28 at 4:30 PM. You are welcome to register via WhatsApp at 5981 3802 or by email at hello@artbatlive.com. Application Fee:

Nomination fee: $80 per student (to be paid after the nomination deadline, includes a competition certificate, an digital NFT version and a gift pack)

Application fee for Hong Kong exhibition: $200 (*Top 16 contestants may apply to participate in the physical exhibition at the HKICS in June.)
(Teachers and nominators may submit the application form first and settle the nomination fee later after the final participant confirmation.)

Nomination Form

Game Rules :

Random topics composed of one adjective and one noun will be announced right before the battle, and each contestant will have 20 minutes to express their given topic using digital drawing tools. The same rules will apply to all matches. Multiple judges will be present for scoring, and contestants who receive higher scores will proceed to the next round.

Tools Required:

  • Digital Drawing Tablet, e.g. IPad, Xencelabs or any other tablet (no restrictions on drawing devices).
  • Digital Drawing Software, e.g. Procreate, ibisPaint X, Photohop, Clip Studio Paint or any other software. (no restrictions on drawing software).
  • Video Conferencing App “Zoom”

Judging Criteria :

Our professional judging panel consists of members from the ARTBAT Academy committee and the Hong Kong artist team. The judging criteria are as follows:

  1. Idea and Creativity (25%)
  2. Composition (15%)
  3. Technique and Colour (15%)
  4. Completeness (15%)
  5. Artistic Style (20%)
  6. Storytelling (10%)

Competition Schedule

Nominated contestants will participate in an online workshop and preliminary selection as the first round of the competition. Contestants must submit their entries before 10:00 PM on the day of the preliminary selection (submission time will be based on the online submission timestamp). In both the [Primary School Group] and the [Secondary School Group], 16 contestants will be shortlisted from the first round of the preliminary selection to advance to the on-site Top 16 round. They will compete within their respective groups from the Top 16 round to the Finals. Each match will have a 20-minute time limit, and contestants with higher scores will advance to the next round.

Details and Regulations

ARTBAT LIVE Limited (“ARTBAT” or “the Organizer” or “we” or “us” or “our”) reserves the right to amend any regulations and also reserves the right to the final decision. In case of any discrepancy between the English version and any foreign language translation, the English version shall prevail.

Nomination Period:

  1. The number of online workshops and Preliminary Round’ places in the competition is limited, no reservations shall be made and telephone registration will not be accepted.  Once the quarterfinals’ shortlisted candidates are finalized, no change of name, conversion or exchange of candidates will be allowed.
  2. The name of the candidates filled in by the nominator must be the same as that on the Hong Kong Identity Card / Birth Certificate.
  3. Please ensure that all parts of the nomination form are completed accurately.  Failure to do so may affect the assessment of the candidates.
  4. All nominated candidates must participate in Online Workshop & Preliminary Round arranged by the Organizer.

After Receiving the Shortlist Notification:

  1. Nominators should notify the shortlisted contestants and reply to the email to confirm their participation in the online quarterfinals competition.

During Battles:

  1. Contestants should bring their own digital drawing tools and charge the tools in advance
  2. The competition order of contestants will be randomly assigned and determined by the Organizer, contestants and nominators shall not object.
  3. Contestants must arrive at the venue 30 minutes before the competition and report to the Organizer, we reserve the right to disqualify latecomers.
  4. If a participant is absent due to being late or any other reasons, another contestant in the same match will automatically advance to the next round.
  5. Contestants should comply with staff instructions prior and during the competition.
  6. Your submissions or any artwork created during the competition must not promote or contain any foul language, violence, obscenity, racism, discrimination of gender, religious beliefs, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
  7. Your submissions or any of the artworks created during the competition must not contain any material that infringes the copyright of others or any third party intellectual property.
  8. Your submissions or any of the artworks created during the competition must not involve in any commercial activities and must not be used for other commercial purposes; or have not been publicly published, printed, broadcast, etc., in any form of commercial promotion.
  9. If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted three hours before the competition, all matches will be canceled and other arrangements will be made.
  10. Contestants should abide by the decisions of the Organizer and the judges, the Organizer reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry in case of any dispute and also reserves the right to disqualify any winners, to withdraw or revoke any awards / prizes so granted, without entitling the winners to any compensation therefore.
  11. All event details are subject to the latest announcement.  The Organizer reserves the right to change the competition date, time, venue, game rules or any other information.  If there are any changes to the details, participants will be notified as soon as possible.
  12. Photos or videos taken during the event will be used for publicity or promotional purposes.  If participants do not want to be photographed during the event, please inform our staff and we are happy to make corresponding arrangements.

Terms and Conditions

  1. By submitting your artwork, you hereby declare that you are the sole creator of the submitted artworks; you own 100% of the copyright and your artworks do not infringe any third-party copyright, including but not limiting to intellectual property rights, copyrights, rights of portrait, confidentiality and privacy.  Contestants will bear all legal liabilities and be responsible for any litigations and compensations arising from the breach of law and regulations. The Organizer, project partner, media partners, sponsors, supporting organizations and related parties disclaim any legal disputes or liabilities of using and publishing the artworks, and contestants shall indemnify the Organizer, project partner, media partners, sponsors, supporting organizations and related parties against any losses they might suffer as a result of any artwork breaching third party rights.
  2. By entering the competition, you agree to grant ARTBAT LIVE the right to display, distribute, store, reproduce, edit, modify, create derivative works of, and otherwise use and reuse the artwork (or any portions or derivative works of the artwork) in any manner, for any promotional and marketing purposes through all our marketing channels including but not limited to our websites and any of our social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, or any online and offline channels.  ARTBAT LIVE can authorize and assign any partner, or subsidiaries the same rights.
  3. The rights that you granted are non-exclusive, that means you are free to grant rights to others.  ARTBAT LIVE will not have to pay additional compensation when exercising above rights.

  1. The Organizer, project partner, media partners, sponsors, supporting organizations and related parties assume no responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries.

All personal data and information of nominators, entrants collected will be used for the purposes of enrollment, collecting user feedback, conducting analyses and statistical use, correspondence and publicity only.  You have the right to request access to and correction of your personal data.
