  • Introduce students to the latest in art technology, encouraging practical application and continuous improvement

Entrants :

Open to all primary and secondary school students in Hong Kong. Participants who are shortlisted in the preliminary round will receive a notification to attend the on-site quarter-finals and finals. If no notification is received by August 2, 2025, it means the participant has not advanced to the quarter-finals.

Competition Rules :

  • Topics are randomly generated live by computer, consisting of one adjective and one noun
  • Topics are announced before each match
  • Participants must complete their digital artwork using a drawing tablet and software within 20 minutes
  • Entries are judged by a panel; top scorers advance to the next round
  • Tools Required:

    • Drawing Tablet e.g., iPad, Xencelabs (no restriction)
    • Drawing Software e.g., Procreate, ibisPaint X, Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint (no restriction)
    • Zoom for online sessions

    Judging Criteria :

    Our professional judging panel consists of members from the ARTBAT Academy committee and the Hong Kong artist team. The judging criteria are as follows:

    1. Concept & Creativity (25%)
    2. Composition (15%)
    3. Drawing Skills & Color Usage (15%)
    4. Speed & Completeness (15%)
    5. Personal Style (20%)
    6. Storytelling (10%)

    Competition Schedule

    Nominated contestants will participate in an online workshop and preliminary selection as the first round of the competition. Contestants must submit their entries before 10:00 PM on the day of the preliminary selection (submission time will be based on the online submission timestamp). In both the [Primary School Group] and the [Secondary School Group], 16 contestants will be shortlisted from the first round of the preliminary selection to advance to the on-site Top 16 round. They will compete within their respective groups from the Top 16 round to the Finals. Each match will have a 20-minute time limit, and contestants with higher scores will advance to the next round.

    ARTBAT LIVE Limited (“ARTBAT” or “the Organizer” or “we” or “us” or “our”) reserves the right to amend any regulations and also reserves the right to the final decision. In case of any discrepancy between the English version and any foreign language translation, the English version shall prevail.

    Nomination Period:

    1. The number of online workshops and Preliminary Round’ places in the competition is limited, no reservations shall be made and telephone registration will not be accepted.  Once the quarterfinals’ shortlisted candidates are finalized, no change of name, conversion or exchange of candidates will be allowed.
    2. The name of the candidates filled in by the nominator must be the same as that on the Hong Kong Identity Card / Birth Certificate.
    3. Please ensure that all parts of the nomination form are completed accurately.  Failure to do so may affect the assessment of the candidates.
    4. All nominated candidates must participate in Online Workshop & Preliminary Round arranged by the Organizer.

    After Receiving the Shortlist Notification:

    1. Nominators should notify the shortlisted contestants and reply to the email to confirm their participation in the online quarterfinals competition.

    During Battles:

    1. Contestants should bring their own digital drawing tools and charge the tools in advance
    2. The competition order of contestants will be randomly assigned and determined by the Organizer, contestants and nominators shall not object.
    3. Contestants must arrive at the venue 30 minutes before the competition and report to the Organizer, we reserve the right to disqualify latecomers.
    4. If a participant is absent due to being late or any other reasons, another contestant in the same match will automatically advance to the next round.
    5. Contestants should comply with staff instructions prior and during the competition.
    6. Your submissions or any artwork created during the competition must not promote or contain any foul language, violence, obscenity, racism, discrimination of gender, religious beliefs, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
    7. Your submissions or any of the artworks created during the competition must not contain any material that infringes the copyright of others or any third party intellectual property.
    8. Your submissions or any of the artworks created during the competition must not involve in any commercial activities and must not be used for other commercial purposes; or have not been publicly published, printed, broadcast, etc., in any form of commercial promotion.
    9. If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted three hours before the competition, all matches will be canceled and other arrangements will be made.
    10. Contestants should abide by the decisions of the Organizer and the judges, the Organizer reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry in case of any dispute and also reserves the right to disqualify any winners, to withdraw or revoke any awards / prizes so granted, without entitling the winners to any compensation therefore.
    11. All event details are subject to the latest announcement.  The Organizer reserves the right to change the competition date, time, venue, game rules or any other information.  If there are any changes to the details, participants will be notified as soon as possible.
    12. Photos or videos taken during the event will be used for publicity or promotional purposes.  If participants do not want to be photographed during the event, please inform our staff and we are happy to make corresponding arrangements.

    1. By submitting your work, you confirm that you are the sole creator of the submission and that you own 100% of the copyright. Your work must not infringe upon any third-party rights, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, copyright, image rights, confidentiality, or privacy rights.Participants are fully responsible for all legal liabilities and any lawsuits or compensation arising from violations of laws or regulations. The organizer, partners, media partners, sponsors, supporting organizations, and related entities disclaim all responsibility for any legal disputes or liabilities resulting from the use or publication of submitted works. Participants must compensate for any losses or expenses caused by violations of third-party rights.
    2. By participating in this competition, you agree to grant the organizer the rights to display, distribute, store, reproduce, edit, modify, create derivative works from, or otherwise use your submitted work. These rights include reusing the work (or any part or derivative of it) in any form for promotional or marketing purposes across all of our marketing channels, including but not limited to our website, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as both online and offline channels. The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups – LOHAS Park Youth S.P.O.T. and ARTBAT LIVE Limited also reserve the right to authorize or assign the use of submitted works to any partners or subsidiaries.
    3. The rights granted to the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups – LOHAS Park Youth S.P.O.T. and ARTBAT LIVE Limited are non-exclusive, meaning you are free to grant the same rights to others. No additional compensation will be provided when these rights are exercised by the organizers.
